Axistive: The Assistive Technology News Portal

It's about time someone created a digg.com or slashdot or gizmodo dedicated to access technology. O.K. - so maybe "about time" is a bit dramatic considering how short a time those three and some others have been around. But I do wish more access technology items would make their way into my RSS feeds from these sites. But when they do, the point of accessibility is either missed entirely or or the "Wow!" factor over something that those of us in the field take for granted is downright annoying.

Axistive seemed to come out of nowhere but is reality has a spittin lineage. Conversation on the listservs revealed that the top kick of the company, Dennis van der Heijden, used to run a Dutch site called HandiCheck and is taking the concept international with Axistive. ATHEN member E.A. Draffan knows Dennis personally and is looking forward to seeing him at the annual meeting.

The staff of Axistive will be in full force at CSUN as they will be the Official Online Media Partner of the conference.
